Daily SSRB Time
Every day we can guarantee you that you will have SSRB Time for homework. Monday-Thursday you are assigned 15 minutes of SSRB Time for homework. On Friday, you are assigned 45 minutes of SSRB Time for homework. Why? Every day over the weekend counts as one day for SSRB Time therefore 15 minutes for each day multiplied by 3 equals 45 minutes total.
In addition to your homework, you will also be given time in class to read your SSRB. We try our best to provide you with at least 10 minutes Monday-Thursday and on Friday 45 minutes for SSRB Time. Times will vary depending upon the agenda for the day and the amount of work that is accomplished by the class.
Self-Selected Reading Books
When selecting a SSRB, you should not only be selecting a book of interest, but you should also be selecting a book that is within your Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). Your ZPD is the range of reading levels that you will be most successful at on your own. Your first SSRB may be toward the lower end of your ZPD and every book thereafter will be higher in range until you reach your max ZPD. You will know you are ready to move on to the next range of your ZPD because you will have read and passed your AR Quiz. Lastly, you should also be selecting a book that there is an AR Quiz for within Ren Learn. Please do not read a book and then come to us and tell us that you forgot to check the database prior to reading your book. There are more than enough books to select from within the database of AR Quizzes, so selecting a book should not be difficult for anyone. If you are experiencing difficulty, please make an appointment to speak with one of us so we may try to help you.
